5 steps to increase your self confidence today

Self - confidence is a skill. A skill that must be developed by everyone.

Confidence comes from a Latin word 'fidere' which means "to trust"; therefore, having self-confidence is having trust in one's self. (Source : Wikipedia)


Thus confidence origins from you. Trust yourself to trust skills, qualities and judgements :)


Here are 5 steps to increase your self confidence :


1. Take care of your self - physically and mentally :

Make it easy for you to feel good about yourself by taking care of your body.


Eat healthy, workout, meditate etc to keep your mind and body at peace. With your body at peace you are able to focus more on tasks which require your attention.


2. Use Visual Communication to your advantage :

"The way you look affects the way you think, the way you feel, the way you act or behave and the way others react or respond to you. "


Visual Communication is the way you are seen. Grooming, Body Language and Etiquette are part of Visual Communication.

When you look good, you feel good and also create a positive influence on others. And this helps you focus on your tasks and actions.

3. Become Assertive :

Learn to be vocal about your opinions and thoughts. Don't let opinions of others affect your actions.

Take a stance for your actions and choice. Own them. Allowing your opinions to be ignored, will lead to lesser confidence.


4. Have a positive perception :

Be optimistic about yourself. Believe you can do it, and you will be able to. Believe the universe is working to give you the best. Use positive affirmations to enhance your confidence in your skills.


5. Practice and enjoy the process.

Self - confidence is confidence in your skills. And practice makes you perfect.


So keep practicing and enhancing the skills till they are ingrained in you. Don't shy away from taking extra coaching and help to enhance those skills.
